What's covered
This document explains how to label photos as Hidden in the Organizer in Adobe Photoshop Elements 6; and how to show the photos again after they have been hidden. Earlier versions of Photoshop Elements used a special "Hidden" tag to accomplish this, however this tag has been replaced by new options in Photoshop Elements 6.
Label photos as Hidden
To label a photo as Hidden, select the photo(s) that you want to hide and do one of the following steps:
- Choose Edit > Visibility > Mark as Hidden.
- Right-click on the photo and choose Visibility > Mark as Hidden.
- Press Alt + F2.
View Hidden photos
To view photos that are labeled as Hidden, do one of the following steps:
- Choose View > Hidden Photos.
- Choose Edit > Visibility > Show Hidden.
- Right-click on any visible photo and choose Visibility >Show Hidden.
Photos that are marked as Hidden will display in the Photo Browser along with your other photos. Hidden photos are marked with an icon of a closed eyelid in the lower-left corner of the thumbnail.
Note: Earlier versions of Photoshop Elements displayed only the hidden photos, without displaying your other photos. Photoshop Elements 6 does the opposite: it always displays your other photos with the hidden photos. To re-create the older behavior, create a unique tag or album and apply it to your hidden photos. After you show hidden photos, select the tag or album in the Organize panel.
Unhide photos (make photos visible)
To remove the Hidden property from a photos and make the photo visible again, first view Hidden photos as described above. Then select the photo(s) that you want to unhide and do one of the following steps:
- Choose Edit > Visibility > Mark as Visible.
- Right-click on the photo and choose Visibility > Mark as Visible.
