Animation duration and loop settings cannot be set (Photoshop Elements on Mac OS)Products affected

Issue

When you choose File > Save for Web to export a GIF file from Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 or Photoshop Elements 4.0 on Mac OS, you can not change the Loop or Frame Delay settings in the Animation options.

Solution

Use the tab key to enter the Frame Delay field. (Photoshop Elements 4.0 only)

The drop-down option for the Frame Delay field can not be used. However, you can enter a text value in the field:
  1. Press the tab key repeatedly until the value in the Frame Delay hightlights. (Under normal circumstances, you should need to press the tab key 7 times, however it may vary depending on what setting you last changed in the dialog.)
  2. Type a new value for the Frame Delay.
  3. Click outside of the Frame Delay field to confirm the value, or press the Enter key to OK the Save for Web dialog and save the file.

Additional Information

The Frame Delay value can not be changed in Photoshop Elements 6.0. The instructions above will work to change the value, but when you save the Animated GIF file the frame delay in the file will always be the default of 0.2 seconds.

The Loop option can not be disabled. This is a known problem with the Save for Web dialog in Photoshop Elements.
